Weekly Raja Yoga Classes

chakras.jpg

Join us for weekly raja (royal) yoga classes, a traditional style which has spiritual enlightenment as its goal.

The class incorporates teachings based on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Each class begins with a short talk on yoga philosophy or spirituality, followed by yogasana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mental exercises, mantra chanting and/or meditation. Postures themselves are easy but effective and are suited for beginners, seniors, and persons with physical limitations (if you can sit down on the floor and get up on your own, you can do this class).

Instructor Margaret "Anamika" Sullivan is a long-time practitioner certified by SVYASA (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana) in Bangalore, India. She has studied kundalini yoga, hypnotherapy, sound therapy, chi-gong, and has been initiated into Kriya Yoga through the lineage of Paramahamsa Yogananda.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.
